Former Eastern Washington offensive coordinator Zak Hill, who was hired just 48 days ago to coach the offense at the University of Hawaii under new head coach Nick Rolovich, is leaving the program, school officials told Hawaii News Now on Wednesday.

While his hiring there has not yet officially been announced, the Idaho Statesman first reported that Hill is going through the hiring process to become the offensive coordinator at Boise State.

Rolovich, who is in Northern California recruiting, issued a statement Wednesday afternoon saying, "Zak made the decision in the best interest of him and his family and we wish him well. Our focus is now on finding a replacement and moving forward. We recruit coaches and players the same way. We want people who want to be here and who fit into the Live Aloha, Play Warrior mold."
